After being together for almost 50 years, Henbury Singers has made the difficult decision to disband.
Since Covid, we struggled to get back to our healthy number of singers and although we have had many successful performances as a small group, we felt we couldn't sustain the choir at such a low membership.
We thank Barbara Rusbridge for stepping in to conduct us this term and we will have our final performance (a private concert) with her, at Katherine House on 11th December.
Barbara also directed us through two moving pieces sung at the recent funeral of our secretary, Mary Whittington. And we were pleased that our previous MD, Andrew Kirk was able to accompany us and be the service organist at All Saints, Pembroke Road, for Mary's service.
